School's out and summer has (pretty much) officially begun! But now what? If your kids are anything like mine, you've probably already heard "I'm bored" more than once.
Beat the summer slump with these 20 summer fun activities in Staten Island. We're pretty sure you'll win the best parent ever award and make some awesome memories while you're at it.
Outdoors & Nature
1.} Visit the Parks SI has to offer. Parks You Must Visit on Staten Island : NYC Parks (nycgovparks.org)
2.} Go see the many animals at the SI Zoo.. They are offering pop up animal encounters as well now so you can check out some animals up close. SI Zoo is still offering FREE admission after 2pm on Wednesdays. You must still Register ..You can do that HERE.
3.} Go tour one of the nation's oldest military installations, Fort Wadsworth.
4.} Go back in history and see the Historic Richmond Town
S.T.E.M
5.} Check out the STEM Matters Programs at : Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Staten Island Museum, and Staten Island Zoo.
6.} Give your brain a workout with code breaking, puzzles and math problems to help you escape the rooms at Unreal Escapes.
Artistic Adventures
7.} Take a trip to Alice Austen House.
8.} Check out Makerspace.
9.} Give the kids $5 to buy their own craft supplies at Michaels Craft Stores and check out their summer art class schedule.
10.} Grab some Pottery at Clay and Kiln.
11.} Take a class with Hammer and Stain.
12.} Grab a togo project or join a drop in class with Board & Brush.
Adventure & Entertainment
13.} Climb the Rock Walls at Rock’em Extreme.
14} Ride go carts, hit baseballs, or play a round of mini golf at SI FUN PARK.
15. } Play a round of laser tag or play some arcade games at FunStation.
16.} Go see if you can get a Turkey at Rabs!
17.} Check out the open play at Do Me a Favor (a toddlers indoor playplace)
Water Play
18.} Check out one of the city pools. (list of locations).
19.} Go check out one of the free beaches and play in the sand.
20.} Play in a Sprinkler at many of the Spray Parks!
