Drawing From Memory

at Staten Island's Culture Lounge

January 22, 2015
Since the Culture Lounge in the ferry terminal opened up in 2014, it has yet to disappoint. Their latest installment is super fun and interactive. Check out the write-up on SiLive.com and the drawing from memory website for a full description on this collaborative workshop.

Interested passengers on the ferry en route to the St. George Ferry terminal will be given an 800 number to call and tell a childhood memory about: “water,” “crossings,” “journeys,” or “the city.”  Artists (this could be you!) will be at Culture Lounge answering the calls and making drawings of the stories while listening.  This project opened on January 8, 2015 and will run through March 22nd.  The 800 number will be active for two hour shifts, 3 days a week for the duration.

The completed drawings will be on display, stop by and check them out!
