This free festival runs from June 7 to August 19 and exposes audiences to the local, national and international world of arts and culture.
This year, the SummerStage Kids Family Day series expands to offer eight dates across all five boroughs. These weekend programs take place in the late afternoon and feature music, dance, circus, and other interactive activities. Highlights this year will include performances from highly acclaimed young metalheads Unlocking the Truth, in Red Hook Park; celebrated children’s musician Laurie Berkner in Herbert Von King Park; and jazz great Wycliffe Gordonin Queensbridge Park.
2015 marks the third year of SummerStage Kids' focus on contemporary circus. Families will get the chance to see the best circus companies from North America and beyond make their mark in New York City as part of the “International Contemporary Circus Festival.”
As always, families can enjoy music, storytellers, dance companies, juggling, puppetry and a host of other thrilling activities throughout the summer.
